liuanqi feels sick. im sick of fighting for ncc in rgs and fighting for rgs in ncc.. we fought real hard in ncc for rgs because we know we love and take pride in this school, we know that this shoulder tag is what that make us different. but really does it matter to the school anyway. does the school love and take pride in us anyway? i guess the answer is a BIGFAT NO! lets just take the CCA ACHIEVEMENT 2008 on RGS OFFICIAL WEBSITE as a guide. it only says...****** champion ******* 1st runners up etcetc and guess what. it all comes from this certain classification of the CCA...called sports..sorry sports pple..im being a real小气鬼here. but what about the UGs achievements? aren't we under this thing called CCA? rcy have attained 1st runners up for fancy drill 2 years in a roll and with many other HQ awards..GB got 1st runners up for their fancy drill as well and of course accompanied by many other awards..nccair got 7 out of 12? for specialist course(course conducted by HQ nation wide) 2nd for challenge quest and 2 awards for ssc which are all NATION WIDE..like national finals if u call it.. and us from speccourse-orienteering-shooting we have been getting alot of medals and championship blahblahblah..but does all these really counts NO! because why? because your from a UG..bottom of the pyramid..really im just sick of these..and another issue..the Saturday issue.. as a SPSL i fully understand the importance of trainings/house practice/PSLsession because i belive in all these that will make the sec1s and us into a better person becoming part of the raffles family and become more bonded but what about us..sure cca camps are not important people can just come and go. when you just rebut us because you look things from your point of view and the decision you make (of course we cannot go against it) will benefit your why not take a step back and look from our point of view? we always stepped back and making compromises because we understand the importance of what YOUR are doing but do ur understand the importance of what we are doing? ok NO.

sometimes i wonder if i have over-committed myself..its hard to satisfy every expects of my life you know..to be a good PSL..to be a impactful mentor..to be part of a advocacy group..to promise myself that i will be more committed to library..to be a usm.a good usm that will make a positive impact.and of course everybody's duty--to be a good daughter/student/friend..
at the end of the day..i worry for myself that i will not be able to do well for any and everything because i tried too hard to do well in everything..orh well at least puts in my effort..

anyways if you know that you really want to do something and make a certain decision and the only time you can do it is right here right now..but the end result might not make you happy but its just something you want to do..will you do it?

April-fools- pranking mrsteopohpoh is kind of epic! mizah is suppose to cry! but i end up crying instead and selena being such a good actress and thuyanh's errerrr i just want to say happy April's fool! XD

i told charloh that you can just tell me how sucky i was during fd and i will cry..and i did..realise that i haven recover from it yet..i was so hurt that i didn't have the courage to stand on stage to command anymore..im not trying to dwell on the past or something..but i fell so badly that till now i still couldn't stand up yet..its hard you know..trying to paste back your love and pride that have already been torn into a thousand pieces..

but i went for my confident boost today..COLORS RSM :D

because at the end of the day..i am going to stand up at the place that i fell

im really afraid that at the end of the day i will not be able to leave a better place for the generations down..im afraid that being given the power im not able to make a change..im afraid that being in this position..that i cannot make a positive impact..actually i care..alot..everyone cares..i care how the company will turn out under our charge..i care how my juniors will turn out to be like..we care that how our future generations turn out to be like..10years..20years.. later i really wish to come back and see rgsnccland still living the legacy.. i hope to see them commanding morning assembly and parades..i hope to see them still greeting in that super low voice..because its part of us..something that we take so much pride in..it is our legacy..its ironic really..how much you need to fight for NCCland in RGS and how much you need to fight for RGS in NCC..

back from Advanced Drill Course, a very awesome experience, learnt alot of new things, had alot of fun, make alot of new friends and of course very tiring and got sunburned, but my beret line is straight.O_O realise alot of the things that we are doing are wrong or very outdated. and the rhythm of our commanding is seriously CMI.

a) What went right
The members of the Uniformed Groups who were involved in the GOH were enthusiastic and on task about the whole thing, such as coming for rehearsals, carrying out the procedures despite the late rehearsals on a certain day, etc. Additionally, given the relatively small amount of rehearsals the procedure was relatively well done.
b) What needs improvement
On a larger scale, not enough time was reasonably provided for us to practice. For example, we were called in at 6.15pm on 4 March 2009. However, even at 6.30pm, the environment was not yet conducive for rehearsal to begin – the band and choir were still playing. Given the emphasis the school places on Founder’s Day as well as the GOH’s punctuality, it would perhaps be reasonable to assume that such details should be taken care of prior. However, barring even that, GOH under normal conditions was hindered due to lack of efficiency on the part of those coordinating the entire event.
Recommendation: all parties to be more mindful of efficiency in such events, especially rehearsals
Procedures were also not secured prior to the actual event (perhaps due to the points raised in the previous paragraph). In this, we mean that cues, commands and the emcees’ cues were not coordinated properly in that the order was not agreed upon. This caused a severe hitch in the GOH’s smooth running, which cannot entirely be blamed on the part of the UGs
Recommendation: mutual co-operation is needed on both sides to predict such instances; in future, GOH organisers should be more closely consulted with regards to the entire procedure (an isolated GOH cannot function in a larger FD context)
c) Suggestions
GOH coordinators should be allowed more time and a better environment to carry out rehearsals, as well as the opportunity to synchronize the procedure with other people involved e.g. emcees. They should also be consulted on the practicality of procedures before the school prescribes them (e.g. having a GOH formation from the canteen is rather impractical). More communication is also needed with the students in the GOH so that they are more aware of improvements and things they need to look out for.
On a macro level, we (this is not limited to our CCA exclusively, or even just UGs) that certain groups of individuals, despite their involvement and commitment to Founder’s Day (not only GOH – band for music, choir for school song) lack recognition and as such, a standard of treatment that is accorded to other people involved (namely, concert performers). This is most obviously shown in provision of dinner (or lack thereof) on 4 March 2009, during which the rehearsal ended considerably late, as well as the Acknowledgements page in the FD booklet that neglected to mention any of the three above mentioned groups. We do not intend to nitpick on individual issues; rather, it is reflective of the entire mindset towards certain people in FD who are regarded as less important than others i.e. that their part is an obligation while for others it is an honour of sorts (this may not be the case but it is the impression received). Considering the effort and time sacrificed on their parts, and in light of the entire spirit of Founder’s Day itself (live the legacy), it is only fitting that every person who makes a contribution deserves fair and equal treatment and appreciation. The fact that that this was neglected is rather disheartening.

Disclaimer: We realise that the school may not have been aware of these issues but we hope they may be highlighted and passed on to future Organizing Teams of school events of whatever magnitude. We are open to discussion, however, if any of these points are felt to be without reason.

disappointed at myself..
being in the front line and yet doing such an awful job..being in a position that could probably make a difference and yet not doing anything..

its not even about the angry and frustration anymore..its about disappointment..about the circumstances and about everything..we probably mean nothing to them because hey you are just there to say a few words which most of the school population don't understand and saluting which most of the pupulation cannot see..

its only about how we look on the outside..when our reputation is invloved..

the whole concert is awesome..perfect to the max..just like shiing said you will not expect anything less from Ms Sandy Leow, Ms Stella Picca, Mr Lim Boon Tat and many others which forms the most incredibly perfectionist and nit picky team that will ensure everything is in control and goes smoothly...yes i would say this year's celebration is the most exciting one(at least what i have gone through in my 4 years here, because 130 is a magical number..its time to show the general public who we are and why are we so capable)

but besides the point..you will never understand what your have done have hurt us(ok some) so deep..because you don't even understand what is the purpose of us being there..appear when you need us and disappear when you just snap your fingers..enduring and just standing there..

actually do you know when you put that thing in front of my mouth..i feel like just digging a hole and never show my face again..even though i know and fully understand that it was for a good purpose..

you will never understand how we feel because you are not in this situation that we are in..Maybe you might think that we are just being teenagers going through our teenage crisis but do your know that actually we do think more than you expected us to?

It's because he believes in what he is saying. He didn't need this, our little, narrow-minded hearts did and he left the class with plenty to chew on for that day. He has this extremely genuine and raw human quality about him when he speaks for things and wishing for us to open our eyes and view it from where he stands. The ability of conducting himself so brilliantly is probably also coming from his years of experience, as an adult of 40+. It reminds me of how far i still have to go, but rekindling the hope to be able to do what he can do."

it was a different story for everyone i guess..i actually enjoyed(not the enjoyENJOY type) it but then again i didnt get sirs that scream into ur face and scolds other pple for ur mistake.it was a different experience from spec.the 5 were quite lost due to everything,actually alot of things from mutual to falling in.but my platoonmates actually whispered to me what to do when im the I/C..i got a very nice platoon.and very understanding PC/APCs.

and our money saving skills is just AMAZING..our whole outfit cost less than partbs skirt/culotte

and at the end of the day all those are worth it and hope sec4s had a good ord coz thats probably the best we could ever give.

i was suppose to blog yesterday, but not after all the embarrassments we had in the morning and the fatal hit on my left eye by that fluffy green thing. and all the bandages and stuff which actually forced me to sleep for 1 whole day. ohh yes dun worry ANQI is NOT dead YET. she is ermm just forced to stay at home for a few days till her eye heal..lets just say that when she goes back to school, there will be a HUGE pile of homework waiting for her, from syfGOh and injuries.

monday's training is just disappointing..i mean yes.

and yesterday..its just embarassing.yet again..i just wanna hide in a corner(which turned out that i do not need to coz im inside the hospital) and had a sudden memory failure and forget why am i in no.3..
